Comic Con 2016!

Art vs Artist

Hello, fellow comic fans. In addition to a few signings, I’ll be on two panels during Comic Con. I hope to see you there or bump into you somewhere in the craziness and comics mayhem that has become San Diego Comic Con:

Friday, July 22
10:00-11:00 Queer Representation in All-Ages and Youth Media—Many people have often dismissed queer content as adult content inappropriate for kids. However, as we’ve seen in the popularity and successes of Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, and Lumberjanes, LGBTQIA+ characters and storylines resonate with young audiences. Join moderator Dylan Edwards (Valley of the Silk Sky) as Dylan leads a discussion with Shannon Watters (Lumberjanes), James Tynion IV (Detective Comics, The Backstagers), Paige Braddock (Stinky Cecil, Peanuts, Jane’s World), Magdalene Visaggio (Kim & Kim), and Josh Trujillo (Adventure Time, Love Machines) about how we can better include healthy representation and how to make it standard practice. Room: 4

Saturday, July 23
1:00 – 2:00 Teaching STEM with Comics

Paige Braddock (Stinky Cecil, Creative Director Schulz Studio), Jim McClain (Solution Squad), Betsy Gomez(CBLDF), Jen Aprahamian (CTO of VINA), Mairghread Scott (Writer, Transformers: Till All Are One, Guardians of the Galaxy), Rebecca Thompson, PhD (Head of Public Outreach, American Physical Society), and moderator Tracy Edmunds, M.A.Ed. (Graphic Novels are Elementary!) Shiley Special Events Suite, San Diego Central Public Library

Sunday, July 24th
